The bright cheerful little room has become a field of rapid convergences sharp angles and contrasts of high color. During his stay in arles between february 1888 and may 1889 vincent van gogh executed about 300 paintings and drawings. Van gogh produced three almost identical paintings on the theme of his bedroom. That never fully came to fruition but he did manage to convince fellow artist and painter paul gauguin to stay.
